The MPFT Research and Innovation (R&I) team have led or are collaborators on five successful National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Innovation and Improvement funding bids.
Dr Ian Scott, who is a Consultant Rheumatologist at MPFT and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Keele University’s School of Medicine and is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), has played a leading role on a study examining pain medicine prescribing in patients with inflammatory arthritis.
Researchers based at the Trust are carrying out video-ethnographic research to explore the ‘naturalistic’ skillset used by dementia-care workers. John Chatwin and Katherine Ludwin are carrying out this 18-month study which is being funded by the National Institute for Health Research.
